The Nationalist Party in a statement, has accused the Prime Minister Robert Abela of “turning the Gozo Innovation Hub, in Xewkija, Gozo into a Labour club” by holding his meeting there on Sunday for a Labour political activity.
“This same Innovation Hub, a Government building, was funded by European funds and which is supposedly dedicated to businesses to operate from,” the PN said.
“Gozitans were expecting Abela to tell them how the Innovation Hub will be filled with businesses offering jobs of quality for Gozitans in Gozo as promised by the Labour Party since 2013 without ever fulfilling it,” the PN said.
The PN added that, However, “the Innovation Hub, which was inaugurated with so much pomp in 2019, unfortunately still remains empty.”
The PN also called on the leaders of Indis Malta Ltd, the public company responsible for the administration of government-owned industrial parks, including the Innovation Hub, “to explain how an industrial site was allowed to be used for a partisan activity.”
The statement was signed by the Gozitan Nationalist MPs, Chris Said, Kevin Cutajar and Joseph Ellis.
