Two more patients have died while being positive with Covid-19, the Health Ministry has said, with the number of lives lost to the virus now at 196.

The first person was an 82-year old woman, who tested positive for Covid-19 on the 15th of December and passed away yesterday at Mater Dei Hospital.

The second person was an 85-year old woman who was confirmed positive for the virus 16th of December and also passed away yesterday at the Mater Dei Hospital.

The Ministry of Health, while offering its condolences to the relatives of the families, called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures “so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society” – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
