A 17-year old youth from Xewkija, riding pillion on a motorbike was seriously injured in an accident on Tuesday evening at around 5.45pm.

Police said that the bike accident happened in in Triq tas-Salvatur, Xewkija, when the rider, also aged 17 and from Xewkija, lost control of the bike and crashed. Both were taken to the Gozo General Hospital.

The rider was later certified to be suffering from slight injuries.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
