Blood donation session to mark World Mission Day on SundayThe National Blood Transfusion Service would like to thank the 22 people who called to donate blood last Tuesday in Gozo.

The Service said that in celebration of the 95th World Mission Day, this Sunday, the 24th of October, there will be another session from 8am to 1pm (last registrations until 1pm) at the Centre in Xewkija.

If Sunday is not possible, then there will be another opportunity to donate on Tuesday, the 2nd of November – from 1pm to 5pm (last registration until 5pm).

The centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.

Important notes

Those who have undergone the swab test, whether routine or due to travel, are asked to wait until a negative Covid-19 test result is given

It is recommended to follow the advice of the health authorities and take the Covid-19 vaccine. In this case, they must wait 48 hours after receiving the vaccine before going to donate blood, while those who have a fever or flu symptoms must wait for 7 days.
