Gozo Live would like to remind students that its Award Writing Competition is now open.

It is inviting students of all ages at any school in Gozo to submit their entries, which must be in English. Entries can be essays, stories, poems or plays and “preferably should be emailed in by Word.”

The judges said that they are looking for original, different and fresh ideas. Let your imagination soar and put those exciting new ideas down on paper.

There are two themes on which to write – anything which includes a fruit or a vegetable, or something set anywhere in Gozo.

A prize will also be given for the best fantasy story, one for the best poem which can be on one of the themes or on any other subject and another to the writer of the best play which must be on one of the themes.

Entries can also be posted to Gozo Live, 21A Gnien Xibla, Xaghra, XRA 2400. The organisers said that teachers and parents are being requested to assist students if possible. The competition closes on the 23rd of April.
