Gozo's recovery and restart of tourism is the theme of the GTA's AGMThe Gozo Tourism Association has highlighter the impact on tourism that the onset and global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has had.

Gozo has been no exception to this, it said, “with the destination’s total dependence on tourism, making the situation even more dire. The post Covid-19 future for tourism will continue to pose several challenges.”

The recovery and restart of tourism on Gozo will therefore be the main theme of this year’s Annual General Meeting of the Gozo Tourism Association.

The Association said that facts, figures and other vital information will be shared with the Gozitan tourism operators present for this meeting.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the GTA said that during 2020, its external activities were restricted and effected. Several annual events during this period had to be postponed.

However, the work of the Association continued just the same, it said, “offering support, information and guidance to its members.”

An overview of the Association’s performance during 2020, will also be delivered at this 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Gozo Tourism Association.

During this same event the Malta Tourism Authority will also be sharing a post Covid-19 recovery plan for tourism on the Maltese Islands.

The Annual General Meeting will be also addressed by the Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri, the Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo, and the Opposition spokesperson for Gozo Dr. Chris Said.

This event is being held on Friday, the 12th of March, in the Auditorium of Queen Mary University of London Malta Campus in Victoria Gozo. During this AGM which starts at 9.30am (registration time 9.00am) a new GTA Council will also be formed.
