Four opportunities to donate blood in Gozo during April

During the month of April there will be the opportunity to make a much needed blood donation at any of the four sessions that will be taking place in Gozo.
They can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club on any of the dates shown below:
Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm
6th April from 1:00pm-5:00pm
20th April from 1:00pm-5:00pm
Sunday – last registration 1:00pm
11th April 8:00am to 1:00pm
25th April 8:00am to 1:00pm.
The Service reminds everyone that it is important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand. Also, please encourage others to donate if possible.
Anyone currently waiting to take a Covid-19 test, or who has had the test and is waiting for the result, cannot give blood.
Anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 will be able to donate blood 4 weeks from the last symptoms.
Anyone taking the vaccine must allow 7 days to elapse before donating blood.
A blood donor must allow 7 days to elapse before taking the Covid-19 vaccine.
The Service stressed that due to the Covid-19 situation all necessary measures are being taken to protect anyone who comes to donate blood, as well as the professionals who provide them with a service.
