The Nationalist Party has welcomed the decision of the Gozo Court in finding Anthony Debono not guilty of the charges brought against him.
The husband of former Nationalist Minister for Gozo Giovanna Debono was acquitted and cleared of all charges, the PN said in a statement, “This is despite PL’s attempts to break up Giovanna Debono, her husband and family. No PN politician was tainted by corruption.”
The PN said that “in addition, the Magistrate reprimanded the Police for investigating the case.”
The Nationalist Party welcomed the Court’s decision and noted that “these accusations that were just conjectures, have left years of unnecessary suffering for the Debono family.”
Well, there’s a relief – and no doubt a big surprise, for some.
And it’s interesting that the response comes from the Party – not from him.
Now we await the verdict (or even the court hearing) on that historic rape case, involving relatives of another politician.
Then we’ll know for sure, what we have always said, that there is no crime on Gozo…
When we have checks and balances than we can say Malta has got rid off some corruption other wise its business as usual .
