1,880 fines have been issued to people in Gozo and Malta by the relevant authorities over the past week regarding the enforcement of Covid-19 regulations, the government said.

Most of the fines issued – 1,222 – were once again related to not wearing a mask. 473 people were fined for being in groups of more than two in public places.

There were 172 other people fined for violating the regulations relating to private gatherings in residences.

The government warned that now with the numbers under control, “it is important that we continue to take care of each other. The authorities will also continue to enforce the measures for your protection.”
