GozoFast Ferry is launching a new ferry service in June that will operate between Gozo (Mgarr Harbour) and Malta (Grand Harbour, Valletta).

The company said in a statement that it has invested in “two safe, modern, comfortable, clean, environmentally friendly and very fast vessels targeting the requirements of people commuting between these islands and visiting tourists.”

“The importance of this route and because `Your Time Matters,’ means that GozoFast Ferry will operate a robust schedule with an hourly service at its peak,” it said.

The company went on to explain that “trips will take less than 45 minutes and will operate from early morning till late at night, starting with a schedule that we believe addresses the current needs of commuters and visitors.”

GozoFast Ferry, said that in collaboration with Malta Public Transport, it will be a “reliable dependable and affordable public transport service which will offer an end-to-end seamless connection with an increased accessibility network covering both Malta and Gozo.”

In partnership with Malta Public Transport, the company said that it will be offering the public a “fast shuttle bus service between the ferry landing point in Mgarr to Victoria in Gozo and between the landing point in Grand Harbour to Malta International Airport, MCAST in Paola, Junior College, University of Malta and Mater Dei Hospital and the current Valletta Ferry Services provided by its subsidiary company – Marsamxetto Steamferry Services.”

GozoFast Ferry added that “passengers can travel with flexibility and efficiency, in a timely manner also by now making the most of other mobility services so readily available such as cabs, car/ bike sharing options and free access to the Upper Barrakka using the scenic lift.”

“We have made a very significant investment to offer an effortless experience with full technological integration with the “tallinja” payment system and bus services,” it said.

This includes an APP in which tickets can be booked in advance, together with a Tap-and-Go option at boarding. Complimentary WIFI will also be available to passengers on board the vessels.

GozoFast Ferry concluded by saying that it will be “the first choice for means of transport between Gozo and Malta, as it will offer a comfortable crossing in an air conditioned and luxurious environment and great value for money. It will be a seamless, fast and effective way to travel between the Islands.”
