Gozo at a crossroads and depends on willingness of Gozitans themselves to protect it - SantMEP and former Prime Minister Alfred Sant, has warned that “Gozo is at a crossroads.” Writing on facebook, he said that “many lament that the island of Gozo has already gone over the edge and the developments and buildings that have been allowed to take place in it, have destroyed its character once and for all.”

He wrote, “I’m not convinced about that. Huge sins have been and are being committed, true. Only a margin of space and time remain in which the situation can still be saved. The protection of the Gozitan environment ultimately depends on the willingness of Gozitans themselves to protect it.”

Dr Sant went on to say that, “they still have the choice of stopping the continuing damage. Only, not for much longer.”

“Soon, if we continue like this, there will be nothing left to save. That is why Gozo is at a crossroads,” said Dr Sant.

Wise words and very true. What Dr. Alfred Sant is saying is surfacing up for all to see. It is up to us the Gozitans to not permit those who run the planning to keep on destroying our home. Gozo. Gozitan developers and contractors should buy old houses and fix them and sell them without turning them into matchbox flats. Leave the seafront because the seafront is a public inheritance!

Dr Alfred Sant should say lets investigate the corrupt PA and his own party that are letting this to continue happening and not blame Gozitans .
