Minister Owen Bonnici to take over responsibility of Civil Rights and ReformsPrime Minister Robert Abela has handed over the responsibilities of the Parliamentary Secretariat for Civil Rights and Reforms to Minister Owen Bonnici.

In a brief statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said that, Minister Bonnici will be in charge of the Ministry for Equality, Research and Innovation. New responsibilities are added to existing ones, including the coordination of the post-Covid-19 strategy.

It said that, “civil rights, equality, and reforms are areas that remain at the heart of this government’s work and in the future these areas will continue to be prioritised with a view that Maltese society continues to be a living example of how everyone should be valued equally and given equal opportunities.”

The Ministry of Justice, Equality and Governance will now be called the Ministry of Justice and Governance.
