Funding of €60,000 has been announced which will cover a course for 24 children with disabilities, including autism. Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri explained that the course, which is being organised by The Voice for Inclusion Gozo in conjunction with Hand in Hand, will see these children move forward in their lives.

He went on to say that “through this funding we are helping a child with a disability to integrate and feel more included in our society. In Gozo we are making major investments to make more places and areas accessible, adequate and safe for people with disabilities.”

“These children with disabilities will be given the attention they need to improve their skills over the coming weeks, while preparing for the next school year,” he said.

Chris Vassallo, Director of Hand in Hand, thanked the Ministry for Gozo for the assistance, which equates to €2,500 for each student who attends this course over a period of eight weeks during the summer months.

The Minister for Gozo concluded by thanking these organisations for the work they are carrying out with the children as well as their parents
