Update – Virtu Ferries has issued updated travel regulation issued by authorities in Sicily for passengers travelling from Malta which come into effect from tomorrow, Saturday, the 17th of July.
All passengers (aged 6 years or over) travelling to Sicily must present one of the following certificates:
a negative swab test result (PCR or rapid) taken 48 hours prior to arrival in Sicily.
an EU Digital Covid vaccine certificate.*
an EU Digital Covid-19 recovery certificate.*
*Until further notice, all passengers travelling to Sicily must also present a negative swab test result (PCR or rapid) taken 48 hours prior to arrival in Sicily.
The company advised that passengers who are not in possession of a negative swab test result will be asked to do a swab test on arrival in Sicily.
All passengers departing Malta to Sicily must fill in the details accordingly on the EU PLF dedicated platform here prior to arrival at Virtu Ferries terminal, the company said.
