Standing events for up to a maximum of 100 full vaccinated people are going to be permitted as from the 6th of September.
This was announced on Tuesday morning by Health Minister Chris Fearne, who said that the decision had been made following discussions with the Mala Entertainment Industry and Arts Association (MEIA).
Dr Fearne explained that the situation in our country with the Covid-19 pandemic “was under control.”
He also said that, “Our country has managed to vaccinate an absolute record of 90% of the population who are eligible for the vaccine.”
As from the 13th of September, the Government will be offering the Covid booster vaccine to those who are immunosuppressed and those in elderly care homes. A booster dose is also being considered for anyone over the age of 70.
As previously announced, from next week the number of those attending seated events will increase to 500 from 300.
