The Police Officers Union stated that it has formally requested the Commissioner of Police and the administration to resolve the issue of the supervision of school children on arrival and departure at school.
The Union said that “the law says that it is not in the task of the police, but that of the Local Council to carry out this duty.”
“The administration has been informed that if we do not receive a reply by the 15th of September. we will initiate an industrial dispute. These actions will include union members reporting for work unshaven and also without wearing a cap,” the Union said.
It concluded by saying that, “the function of each Local Council will be to provide protection for school children in the vicinity of schools.”

Oh, for goodness sake grow up (and grow a beard, if you are man enough).
The duty of the police is the safety of the public (serve and protect, I think they say).
I don’t see why teachers can’t see children safely across the road when they come out of school.
But, if they don’t, the police have to do it.
What would they be doing otherwise? Catching crooks? We think?
Liberals want to defund the police around the world so protect and serve is history. Woke and cancel culture.
