Community Policing is to start operating in Gozo as from next month. The Gozo Region has said that it welcomes with “great satisfaction” the confirmation given by the Police during a recent meeting with the Local Councils’ Association Malta.

It said that as from November the Community Policing service for Gozo will have ten police officials and two team leaders allocated.

The Gozo Region explained that Community Policing is a partnership between the local community and the police. This is a philosophy that allows officers to continuously operate in the same area in order to create a stronger bond with their citizens living and working in that area.

“This is a much needed service to have in Gozo and we thank the Malta Police force and all the partners involved for this,” Samuel Azzopardi, President of the Gozo Region said.
