10 new Covid-19 cases were found overnight with 30 recoveries, the authorities said. During the last 24 hours an 86-year old man passed away while Covid positive.

The number of Covid positive patients currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital is 14, including 4 in ITU.

There have been 460 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases in Malta and Gozo is 251.

Health Authorities said that the number of vaccines administered is 86,183 up until yesterday, of which 41,425 are booster doses.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 21st of October, it shows the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 37,466 and the number of deaths showing is 459. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is at 47.61.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.
