A 75-year old man and a 77-year old woman have passed away overnight while Covid positive, authorities have said.

There were 301 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 1,133 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo down below 10,000 to 9,920.

There are 102 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital (which is the only hospital being reported) including 8 who are in ITU.

Authorities said there have now been 506 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 305,549.
