The first Victim Support Centre in Malta will start operating with a regional office in the south of Malta.

The government has said that negotiations are also currently underway to identify a site in Gozo as well as one in the north of Malta.

Through these centres, the Victim Support Agency continues to raise awareness about the victims’ rights. Each service is provided free of charge.

It was explained that the professionals within the agency offer psycho-social assistance as well as legal guidance depending on the case.

The government went on to say that local councils will play an important role in helping the agency organise community outreach programmes to bring the agency closer to the communities.
