The fifth round of the championship 2022 was held on Sunday at Ta’ Xhajma Track, organised by the Gozo Motocross Association, when 28 riders provided one of the most “incredible competitive shows ever,” the GMA said.

Steve Xuereb was placed first in Class A. He was followed by David Dimech, with Paul Muscat coming in third.

Class B was just as challenging with Biuren Grima and Joseph Bigeni fighting for first place. Grima recorded his fifth win this season, while Bigeni followed close behind. Robert Spiteri took third place.

In Class C, Daniel Borg came in first while William Sant entered second and Jonathan Borg finished third.

Following a three year absence from motocross, rider Godfrey Bigeni achieved first place in Class D. He was followed by two very young and able riders, Travis Borg and Antoni Said respectively.

Meanwhile, the junior class consisted of eight riders-Matthias Sultana, Trystn Theuma, Craig Piscopo, Shayzen Mercieca, Zac Tabone, Isaac Borg, Diego Panza, Skylar Slowe.

At the end of the event, GMA president Frank Xuereb awarded winners with trophies supported by Ravenol Oil Lubricants at Galea General Services The junior riders were given participation trophies sponsored by Alex Debono at Sports Experience Trophies & Awards.

Th next event being organised is the popular FUNRACE which will take place on Sunday, the the 27th of February. As the date hits the Carnival festivities, the GMA said that riders are encouraged to wear carnival costume and design their crash helmets in a carnivalesque way.

The Gozo Motocross Association also advised s the the quarter final of the Championship 2022 fuelledby Enemed will take place on the 20th of March.
