Health Minister Chris Fearne, in a press conference on Thursday has said that anti-Covid-19 restrictions will continue to be reduced in order for the country to “return to normality.”

He said that with effect from the 11th of April, outdoor mass activities will take place without restrictions, meaning that both vaccinated and non-vaccinated people will be able to attend.

Dr Fearne stressed however, that indoor activities will be limited to vaccinated people. A certificate will be required for any events, including weddings, which are to be held indoors.

With effect from the 7th of March, restrictions will be removed on opening times for entertainment and other establishments, they can remain open according to their licencing hours, and not only until 1.00am.

Quarantine for those who have been in direct contact with positive persons who are vaccinated will end.

Quarantine for vaccinated people will be reduced to 7 days from 10, for those who are positive, followed by a test. For those who are not vaccinated, quarantine will remain at 14 days.

Primary contacts who are not vaccinated, must quarantine for 5 days instead of 7. Travellers from countries on the Dark Red list must spend 7 days in quarantine instead of 10.

From 7th March, tests accepted by the WHO will also be recognised, quarantine will be eliminated from countries on the Red list if they test negative.

Dr Fearne concluded by saying that with effect from the 14th of March, masks will no longer be mandatory in public outside. Up to the Easter holidays, children in schools will remain masked, however, if the situation remains stable, mask wearing in schools will be removed after the Easter holidays.
