Three Gozitan Labour MPs have been appointed as Ministers by Prime Minister Robert Abela in the newly formed Cabinet.

Clint Camilleri has been reappointed as Minister for Gozo and the Prime Minister has also reappointed Anton Refalo as Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights. Newcomer Jo Etienne Abela has been appointed as Minister for Active Ageing.

In a statement from the OPM, it said that the Prime Minister has given temporary permission for a few days to Surgeon Jo Etienne Abela to be able to operate on patients who have already been notified of their operation. This is in the interest of the health of the same patients, the statement said.

The Prime Minister will also consider other appointments, “`in view of the need to strengthen female representation in Parliament as well as in the executive,” the statement said.
