Gozo Regional Council President Dr Samuel Azzopardi and its Members, have condemned “without reservations” the incident experienced by the Qala Mayor, Mr Paul Buttigieg.
On Tuesday, Buttigieg filed a Police report, saying that he was “attacked by an employee of a well-known Gozitan developer.”
Writing on Facebook, Buttigieg said that he was reviewing cleaning works in the locality when he claimed that “a truck driver shot out of a truck and assaulted him physically, shouting at him and telling him `Int imqabbad maghna’ (you are on our case).”
The Gozo Regional Council in a statement, condemned all type of violence and reiterated its call for “more dialogue between the Mayors and bona fide Developers for Gozo to be spared from excessive development and environmental and urban degradation.”
The Gozo Regional Council concluded by saying that it “strongly believes that Gozo deserves much better. We remain convinced that the most favourable solution for the benefit of everyone is to promote sustainable development.”

What`s next? Dear Qala mayor we need you more than ever now that these cowboys are on the lease.
