Two schemes aimed at incentivising the tourism sector in Gozo, have been launched by Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri.

The Minister, speaking at the launch said that “now that the tourism sector is recovering and establishments are reporting good results, we need to take the opportunity to assist with aid schemes to continue improving the tourism sector in Gozo.”

It was explained that through these schemes, applicants will be reimbursed for the capital cost incurred and that these schemes will remain eligible until December 2023.

The schemes are:

Supporting Marketing Initiatives for the Accommodation Sector in Gozo

A scheme intended to incentivise the housing sector in Gozo to focus more on the use of digital promotion, which is consistent and professional. The aim is to increase the number of bed nights in Gozo with the participation of these campaigns, both for the domestic and international market.

Supporting the Adventurous Tourism Industry in Gozo through Hiring Equipment Refund Scheme

The adventure tourism niche is synonymous with the VisitGozo brand, as Gozo is projected as an ideal destination for practising similar experiences, including diving, kayaking, cycling and rock-climbing. In order to sustain this reputation, and continue to improve the product offered, the government is incentivising operators offering this service to invest more in the product they offer, even against a background of recovery of the tourism sector.

      Dear Minister .

      Commendable Idea !
Finally , after 18 years telling you the Importance of this Sector – REACTION !

But the cover up to 50% of the eligible equipment pertaining to the activities
listed in Section 2 above, up to a maximum of EUR 5,000 is too small and it has to be also to discuss excess to all areas .
      Private property or not .

If you truly interested to do something , speak to the real Professional in the single sectors !

If you want to incentivise tourism on Gozo stop building and leave the beautiful Island to stay just that, your concrete monstrosities are not beautiful!
