Gharb Mayor David Apap Agius, celebrated his 25th anniversary as Mayor of the locality on Friday, a remarkable achievement.

This milestone was recognised on Saturday, during conference on democracy and local governance and the direct involvement of citizens, hosted by the Gharb Local Council at the Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz.

The Gharb Mayor said that, “we will continue to look forward to more opportunities to continue to build a bright future for all. I have always believed in everyone’s abilities and that everyone can contribute.”

“We will continue to work closely with young people and the elderly, students and children, individuals and all types of families to continue to see improvements in the lives of each and every one of us. We will continue to involve all our voluntary organisations,” said David Apap Agius.

He stressed that “we have a duty to continue to improve and nurture the environment around us that will lead to greater health and improvement in our lives.”

“Thank you for your support, to those who have given me your trust throughout this time, to those who have given a word of encouragement and to those directly involved, Deputy Mayors, Councillors, Executive Secretary and all staff.”

The Gharb Mayor also gave special thanks to Marisa Pisani the Director Local Government – Strategy and Policy Implementation, to Alex Borg the PN Spokesperson for Gozo, President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Parliamentary Secretary for Local Government Alison Zerafa Civelli, to Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri.

He went on to thank Joe Muscat GTA, Daniel Borg GBC, to the Ambassador of Malta to Denmark Dr Mark Causon and Anna Dubik, as well as Deputy Mayor Louis Apap and Councillors Tonio Mifsud, Joseph Tixx and Miriam Borg for their support.
