The Police said that it is again receiving reports of calls that are allegedly being made via ‘local numbers’ claiming to be from the Malta Police Force.

These calls are asking for the person to give their ID information, postcode and/or card details.

The pre-recorded message then directs the person receiving the call to press “1” and follow the additional instructions.

The Police warned that these are none other than scams, whereby criminals try to gain access to personal information and/or credit card details.
