The Responsible Gaming Foundation (RGF) has launched a “TAKE ACTION” Awareness Campaign – part of a complete project of €1.1 million partially financed by the European Social Fund.

The Foundation said that the complete project also includes research and training, as well as this awareness campaign.

It explained that the campaign also aims to reduce the stigma associated with gambling and gambling, create awareness in the community about the repercussions related to excessive gaming and excessive gambling while encouraging people who are going through this problem to make contact either through the same foundation’s support line, 1777 or through the website chatline on the website www.rgf.org.mt.

The campaign is divided into three main groups: children and young people (10-35 years old), the general public, and, the Foundation said, “those addicts who have faced serious consequences due to pathological gambling and even excluded themselves from casinos, gaming outlets and bingo halls licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority.”

Minister for the Economy, European Funds and Lands Silvio Schembri, on a visit to the offices of the RGF was shown the visual material that is currently being used during the campaign.

The Minister, while thanking the non-executive Chairman of the RGF Neville Mangion, the General Manager of the RGF Kevin O’Neill, and all the staff of the RGF who worked on this campaign, stressed that it is important to be immediately aware of the signs that may indicate that there is a gambling problem.

Minister Schembri also thanked the various personalities who are being ambassadors for this campaign.

The RGF thanked Minister Schembri for his visit and also thanked all those involved in the continuous work that was so necessary for this campaign to be a successful one.
