Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has been in Brussels this week where he attended the EU Regions Week, which attracts hundreds of participants from local and regional entities and cities to the European Parliament.

Minister Camilleri, said that he emphasised the need for Gozo to be given priority when it comes to European funds “so that we can continue to strengthen our island.”

The Gozo Minister also had the opportunity to meet the members of the European Business Network where he discussed “how Gozo can attract more foreign investment of the highest quality in order to create more job opportunities for our young people.”

The European Week of Regions and Cities (EU Regions Week) is an annual four-day event which finished on Thursday, during which cities and regions showcased their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.

It is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to cohesion policy
