A 46-year-old Albanian man was grievously injured in an incident while working on a construction site in Xaghra, Gozo, on Friday.

Police said that the accident happened at around at 3.30pm in Triq Ta’ Gorf, while the man was cutting wood using machinery.

The man, who lives in Xewkija, was given first aid by people on site before being take to the Gozo Central Hospital, where he was later certified to have sustained grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
