Full-scale aircraft accident exercise at MIA on TuesdayA full-scale aircraft accident exercise is taking place at Malta International Airport on Tuesday, the 8th of November in the evening.

The airport said that the exercise will bring together national stakeholders and other entities that would be involved in the response to a real-life emergency scenario at Malta International Airport.

These full-scale exercises are carried out every two years, in line with the European Aviation Safety Agency’s (EASA) requirements, with the aim of determining the level of preparedness of all entities to respond to a crisis, as well as testing the communications systems and emergency resources in place.

Malta International Airport advised passengers travelling on the day that this exercise will not affect their journey and said that unusual activity, including several emergency vehicles being driven towards the terminal, should not cause alarm.

Malta International Airport thanked the public for its cooperation.
