Mr Split Wakes Up – is the title of a performance next month at Arthall in Gozo, with the artist Jonathan Orchard.

Mr. Split wakes up is a one-man show reaching far into the soul. Is he asleep or awake? Is it all a dream? Man or mask ? Who is Mr. Split? “Let yourself be carried away by the magic, music and deep cogitation of this man and his imagination,” the gallery said.

According to Arthall, “it will be an experimental and unpredictable night for the artist and for the guests, since Mr. Split is always in two minds.”

Jonathan Orchard is an English performance artist, storyteller and yoga retreat leader. He lived in the Findhorn Community, Scotland, for 3 years and has led many yoga retreats in Egypt, Turkey, California and several countries in the EU.

He is presently living in Malta and recently took part in the Cristóbal Gabarrón action painting at Ggantija Temples. With original poems and songs his shows explore awakening to a life of purpose and presence.

The gallery said that guests at the performance will be invited to take a glass of wine and sit down or walk around the gallery; The event will not be visible from outside the gallery; The artist would like to ask the guests to switch off the mobile during the performance; The gallerist will take some photos and videos of the event for social media.

The performance is on Friday, the 16th of December, starting at 7:30 pm, it is recommended that guests are there around 7.15pm – at Arthall: 8, triq Agius de Soldanis, Victoria, Gozo.

The ticket price is 10 Euro and can be purchased the same day of the event at the gallery. However, it is recommended to reserve the ticket at arthallgozo@gmail.com as there will be a limited number of participants.

Arthall opening hours: From Wednesday to Saturday from 10-13 and 17-19; Sunday from 10-12.
