Gozitan workers stranded in Malta to have hotel stay refundedGozo Minister Clint Camilleri said that the Gozo Channel service has been suspended due to the storm that hit the islands today, “therefore Gozitan and Maltese workers who need to cross by sea and work in the public sector, tonight are exempted from reporting to work.

The Minister went on to announce that Gozitan workers who will be stranded in Malta because of the suspension of the Gozo Channel ferry service will have their hotel stay refunded.

He explained that eligible workers can stay overnight in a hotel in the area and keep the receipt in order to apply for a refund through the MyGozo app of the Ministry for Gozo.

Minister Camilleri advised that the Riviera Hotel and the Paradise Hotel have rooms available and had been informed of this arrangement.

The Minister expressed his thanks to all Gozo Channel employees for their work.
