The Government, in response to Steward Malta’s statement this morning, said that it is “firmly sticking to the position stated on Tuesday, that it would immediately take over the operation of the three hospitals.”

The Government statement said that it “will continue to maintain a firm legal position in favour of the interests of the Maltese and the Gozitans.”

“Steward Malta’s statement is out of line as the Government has already explained more than once,” it said.

“The Government is once again reassuring the service to all patients and the employment of all workers in the hospitals,” it said.
