The Government, on Tuesday submitted its “detailed response” to Birdlife Malta’s warrant of prohibitory injunction which was provisionally accepted by the Court on Monday.

Gozo Minister said that the “the Government argued that there is no doubt that the requirements for issuing the mandate have not been met and consequently, the Court should reject the request.”

In addition, the Minister said that, “through an application, the Government also asked the Court to order the hearing of these procedures to take place on a date closer and much before the 18th of April.”

Commenting previously, Camilleri had said that the date being given is “potentially in the middle of the spring hunting season.”

The Minister concluded by saying that, “I believe that no manoeuvre should deny what the Maltese and Gozitan people voted for. What is ours, must remain ours.”
