Man rescued from car when car falls into sea at Mgarr terminal

A car fell in to the sea on Friday evening at Mgarr terminal in Gozo, the driver was safe, but suffering from shock.
In a statement, the Armed Forces of Malta said that the the Malta Rescue Coordination Centre had been alerted by the Civil Protection Department through the Emergency Number 112, that a vehicle had fallen into the sea at the Mgarr Passenger Terminal.
“The Armed Forces of Malta immediately dispatched its asset to the scene of the rescue and confirmed that the person in the car was safe,” the AFM said.
The driver of the car, who is from Xaghra, was brought to shore but was taken to Gozo General Hospital to be treated for shock.
The Armed Forces of Malta said that it would be conducting an underwater search and “remove any objects which might be a hazard to navigation.”
