Justice Minister Jonathan Attard, has said that the evaluation of submitted proposals is “still ongoing” for the `Proposal for Available Property or Land for Outright Acquisition in Victoria, Gozo, or in the Vicinity to be Converted into Gozo Court.’

The Minister was replying to a Parliamentary Question by Opposition MP Chris Said, who had asked what the latest developments were on the PMC which had been issued by the Courts Service Agency and which closed on the 6th of January.

Dr Said also asked whether the proposals submitted had been evaluated and whether a report had been prepared and if so, will he place the report on the Table of the House.

The publishing of a PMC for the building of a new Gozo Court was announced in November last year by the Justice Ministry and the Ministry for Gozo.

The Ministries had said that, “in recent years, the cases in the Gozo Court have increased and the daily functions and operations of the court have become more complex. Therefore it became evident that the existing building is no longer considered adequate to house the Courts of Gozo.”
