The left think-tank organisation Zminijietna has criticised the opposition party’s position against the proposed social housing project in an area located on the outskirts of Victoria, known as Tac-Cawla.

In a statement, Zminijietna said that it also welcome the regeneration for the Tac-Cawla area, with the modernisation of public space and an increase in social housing.

Zminijietna added “that these types of projects, together with social and progressive measures are essentially important to confront social inequality, homelessness, affordability in housing, and social wellbeing.”

It urged the Government to “do more” on social Housing. “National statistics of (2022) confirm that 1,800 persons are on the waiting list for social accommodation.”
