The Police are warning Facebook Messenger users to be cautious when replying to messages such as the ones shown above, since the accounts being used are real accounts which have been compromised and are being used to lure the victims into accessing a link which is sent to them.
When providing this code the victim will be giving access to third parties to their social media account, the Police said.
Usually I know that it is a scam through the bad translated sentences but many locals fill the comments and messages with badly written Maltese. That is as far as they learned. I am compassionate with them. This scam
email had good Maltese except one verb which ended with ni rather than li. Tal instead of tall. L- instead of l’. So it was translated rather well but the mistakes would not have been done from a person who knows so well how to write Maltese. There is a great difference between Maltese words written wrongly by a Maltese person than the wrong written Maltese written by a foreigner through an rlectronic translator.
