The Malta Sociological Association said that it has noted the European Commission’s proposal for a Council recommendation on the social economy, which includes recommendations for concrete measures to support the social economy – prioritising people, social and environmental causes over profit.
In particular, the document “recommends Member States support the uptake by social economy entities of social impact measurement and management processes used to measure and assess the social impact of a particular project or organisation.”
The Malta Sociological Association appealed to the Government of Malta to ”endorse accordingly, in order to mainstream the measurement of social impact in policy making in the social economy and other sectors.”
