Next Friday, the public will have the opportunity to show their appreciation towards the work of the Police in Gozo, during an event in commemoration of Police Day.

This special day is commemorated on the 12th of July, and this year marks the 209th anniversary.

In Gozo, there will be a ceremony in Marsalforn on Friday, the 14th of July.

Prior to the evening events, there will be a Mass celebrated at the Santa Marija cemetery chapel, followed by the blessing of Police graves and laying of flowers.

The commemoration events then get underway in Marsalforn with a march by the Malta Police Band starting from Mikelang Refalo Street at 7.30pm.

A Police Band Concert at Il-Menqa will follow, and the evening will conclude with displays by the Precision Drill Team, as well as the Police Dogs Section.

Two horses from the mounted section and a traffic motorcycle and rider will also be part of the team meeting the public on the night.
