We are in a new week, but the National Blood Transfusion Service have advised that unfortunately the appeal for A Positive and O Positive blood groups is still in force.

The Service warned that reserves of these groups have still not reached acceptable levels. Donations for other blood groups are also needed.

The Service continues to encourage Gozitans to please keep attending donation sessions, even in this extremely hot weather, to help the patients in need get the necessary blood in a timely manner.

There is a session today (Tuesday) between 1-5pm and then again on Sunday, the 30th of July, from 8am until 1pm, at the Xewkija Clinic. “Be a Hero, Save Lives, Donate Blood.

“Your cooperation and generosity are greatly appreciated as always,” the Service said.

The centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service

The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.

As usual, please wear a mask when attending the clinic.
