The National Blood Transfusion Service have said that currently all blood groups are needed.

Giving blood is an essential service, so please help and “be a hero, help save lives by donating blood.”

The Service is again urging Gozitans to show their solidarity and please support sick patients in the hospitals of Gozo and Malta by making a donation on one of the four dates that are shown below during September, the first one being Tuesday, the 5th of September.

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club:

Sundays – last registration 1:00pm

10th September from 8:00am-1:00pm

24th September from 8:00am-1:00pm

Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm

5th September 1:00pm to 5:00pm

19th September 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service to avoid wasting time

The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.

As usual, please wear a mask when attending the clinic.
