Over 325,000 tourists visited the Maltese Islands in July

There were an estimated 325,457 tourists that visited the Maltese Islands during July.
National Statistics Office data released today show that this was an increase of 17.5% when compared to the corresponding month of 2022.
Italian, UK and French residents made up 46.7% of the total inbound tourists, the NSO said.
Total nights spent amounted to 2,532,743, and total expenditure almost reached €334.5 million during the same period.
The NSO noted that the largest share of guest nights (84.3%) was spent in rented accommodation establishments.
Inbound tourists in the first seven months of 2023 amounted to 1,614,749, this was a 37.6% increase on last year, while total nights spent surpassed 10.6 million nights.
Total tourism expenditure for the period January-July 2023 was estimated at €1.4 billion, while expenditure per capita stood at €849.
