Dancing kites return to the skies next month at San Dimitri

With summer slowly starting to turn to autumn and the days get more blustery it means that the weather is becoming perfect for the very popular International Kite & Wind Festival in Gharb.
This festival always entices thousands of visitors who want to experience the sight of skies full of colourful kites in all forms and sizes forming an incredible display over the San Dimitri area of the locality.
This 6th edition of the festival, organised by the Gharb Local Council with the support of the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo, will be open from 9.30am onwards on both days.
Internationally renowned kite fliers will be performing numerous entertaining acrobatic kite tricks and routines to music and there will also be kite making workshops.
Bookings for the free traditional kite making workshops are now open.
Workshops are for ages 4-years and upwards (minors to be accompanied by an adult).
Bookings may close earlier than the 10th of October if the maximum number of participants for workshops is reached

The event will feature a stunning and colourful display of the art of kite making that reflects the tradition of kites around the world, with many kites in the sky and on the ground for visitors to enjoy and admire.
There will also be kites on sale, a children’s area, food and drink vendors, live playback music, a traditional fair and more.
The International Kite & Wind Festival returns to Gharb, Gozo, on the 14th and 15th of October.
A programme and further details, such as parking etc, will be released by the Gharb Local Council over the coming days.
