A 53-year old diver is in a serious condition after finding himself in difficulty while diving in Gozo.

Police said that it was informed at around 1.45pm that their help was needed in Ras il-Hobz, Ghajnsielem.

Police and a medical team from the Gozo General Hospital went to the scene where they found the diver, a German national, on land after being brought ashore by people who were with him.

The man was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was later certified to be in a serious condition.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
