Update: The third set of handmade wool blankets – which consisted of 23 blankets – all handmade by the Munxar community, were recently donated to Puttinu Cares.

Puttinu Cares, the children’s cancer support group, was set up in October 2002 and began from an idea and desire to offer a holistic approach of care for families with children suffering from cancer.

Dr. Victor Calvagna and Mr. Rennie Zerafa were the founders of this group.

The HSBC Malta Foundation is supporting the Munxar community to produce more of these blankets to be donated to a number of NGO’s over the coming months.

The Munxar community donated blankets in August to Smiling with Jerome. In May, they donated to Hospice Malta.
