European Parliament President Roberta Metsola in an appeal for the protection of Ggantija Temples from development, said that “Ggantija is a treasure that we have inherited from our ancestors.”
She added, “it belongs to all the generations who come after us. It belongs to civilisation.”
“It has survived everything for thousands of years. It is our obligation to leave it to those who come after us. The next generations have the right to enjoy it,” said Roberta Metsola on Facebook.
Ms Metsola stated, “now we must save it from a Prime Minister and those who surround him who cannot appreciate our cultural heritage. They just want to throw away our identity.”
“They know the price of everything and the value of nothing,” she said.
