The “Daily Bread” Project, is a new initiative by the Diocese of Gozo which started operating in June.

Through this project, the Church in Gozo, overseen by the Diaconia Office, is providing 90 hot meals a week to a number of vulnerable people who cannot provide for themselves.

The food is prepared in the kitchens of Villa San Lawrenz and Dar Arka, and is distributed three times a week from the Convent of Saint Francis, in Victoria, with the help of volunteers for the distribution of food.

The Diocese expressed its gratitude to the Conventual Franciscan Friars, David’s Bakery and J.J. Zammit Supplies, who are sponsoring this project.

In a second initiative, the Diocese has also launched a support group for parents of children with disabilities at Dar Arka in Ghajnsielem.

The first meeting was held on Friday at Dar Arka, and further meetings will continue to be held every three weeks.
