December is the month when everyone is thinking of gifts to buy for family and friends.

The National Blood Transfusion Service said why not help give the gift of life, the need for blood is constant and with each donation you can help save up to 3 lives.

The Service is urging Gozitans to show their solidarity and please support sick patients in the hospitals of Gozo and Malta by making a donation on one of the four dates that are shown below during December, the first one being Sunday, the 3rd of December.

Donations can be made at the District Health Centre in Xewkija, located in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club:

Sundays – last registration 1:00pm

3rd December from 8:00am-1:00pm

17th December from 8:00am-1:00pm

Tuesdays – last registration 5:00pm

12th December 1:00pm to 5:00pm

31st December 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service

• Bring your Maltese ID Card, driving licence or passport.

• Drink some water before your donation .

• Wear loose fitting clothes/sleeves.

• The face mask is still mandatory.
